The Learning and Development community is uniquely positioned to respond to racial injustice and the first step is to listen. Join us on our next episode as we invite black voices Jessica Jackson, Myra Roldan and Nyla Spooner on the show to share their experiences in the L&D field and the ways they are using and asking you to use resources to respond to racial injustice.

Jessica Jackson brings a myriad of educational experiences to instructional design. Her background in teaching, social justice dialogue facilitation, restorative justice practices, and DEI consulting provide a robust toolkit to respond to racism in the workplace. She is the current xAPI Cohort Host and an Instructional Designer and Project Manager at TorranceLearning.

Nyla Spooner is an experienced instructional designer creating opportunities for people to develop and unleash their expertise. Having worked across multiple industries including commercial film, oil and gas, and retail - she has a keen sense of what it takes to facilitate real change in an organization. She has committed to helping 100 women of color enter the learning and development space over the next 5 years through peer mentoring and hosts a podcast for new instructional designers called, "I'm New Here".

Myra Roldan is a TEDx speaker, author, Award-winning Instructional Designer. Myra has an MBA, MSEd and a Bachelors of Information Technology/Computer Science. Myra's passion is empowering people to explore and develop themselves holistically. She strives to evoke transformation in people by creating programs to enable them to become curious learners who develop the tech skills needed for the jobs of today and tomorrow. Her friends, students, and colleagues believe that her superpower is the ability to make complex technology accessible by making it easy for someone with little to no technology know-how to understand and get excited about the tech.
