In this episode I meet Dr Gael Abou Ghannam, a Gynecologist, based in Beirut. She is also somehow ofan activist and a progressive thinker in woman\u2019s health. I meet her in her cabinet, and we talk about how medicine deals with periods in today\u2019s world, from the pill to medication to PMS.

Dr. Ga\xebl Abou Ghannam is an obstetrician-gynecologist specialized in infertility and fertility preservation in adult and pediatric patients from the American University Beirut.
\nGael trained as a fellow in Reproductive endocrinology and infertility in the department of Gynecology and Andrology of \u201cLes cliniques Universitaires Saint Luc\u201d in Brussels. Her training focused on reproductive health with emphasis in andrology, female and male infertility. Gael\u2019s skills include laparoscopic surgeries, ovarian and testicular tissue cryopreservation.
\nAs an expert in her field, Gael counsels patients about the risk to their fertility in case of gonadotoxic treatments (chemotherapy and radiotherapy) and guide them to the best options available in a respectful and sensitive manner.
