Mateo is a student at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana double-majoring in studio art, Japanese Language, and Linguistics. He was born in Guatemala City and attended high school in Costa Rico before coming to Earlham. Mateo has a passion for the intersection of queer and migrant identities and would like to be a middle school teacher.
