Former US Marine Steve DiSchiavi is a 21-year veteran of the New York City Police Department, where he was a homicide detective. For the past six-years Steve has been investigating cases for Travel Channel’s popular series The Dead Files. Using his investigative skills, Steve digs into the history of his clients’ homes, often finding dark and tragic events which could help explain what they’re going through. On The Dead Files, DiSchiavi relies on his police training and experience to explore the facts behind each property — questioning the owners about the building’s history, interviewing local historians and experts. When Steve and Amy come together at the end of the investigation to share their findings, the parallels between their discoveries are often powerful and explosive.
