Finding Support In Your Mental Health Journey (Solo: Part 3)

Published: Feb. 11, 2020, 8 a.m.

What do you do when you are struggling with your mental health and you are not feeling supported by your family and friends the way you wish? This is a question that I am often asked and is a common concern in the mental health community. This is our last episode in our solo series where I am diving into my own story of healing which included, finding the right support.

I want to honestly share with you a perspective that you may have not considered when it comes to your loved ones. Sometimes it is difficult for those that are the closest to you to fully understand what you are going through. It can even be stressful because they may not have the language to support you the way they wish they could and they also might feel overwhelmed because they are carrying the weight of your struggles.

Although this may seem like an impossible situation with no clear solution, there is a practical approach that you can take that will not only help you find the support you need but also be a relief to the ones you love. Tune in today to hear how I found support outside of my friends and family and why I recommend that you do the same.

Speaking of support, we would LOVE to be a part of your community. Find us on Facebook, Hope to Recharge where we will lock arms with you and be a support when you need it the most. Because as always, together is better!
