Episode 1 - Moving to LA to be an Actor & How to be a Problem Solver with GLEE's Curt Mega, Act One

Published: June 19, 2017, 6 a.m.

Welcome to the Hollywood Hustle Podcast! Thank you for joining us for this incredible journey. Join screenwriter Daniel Tuttel and actor Michael Lutheran as they navigate the entertainment industry with interviews from Creative Entrepreneurs speaking about their "Hollywood Hustle" - the hard work and determination it takes to get to where you want to be - finding "success" along the way.

For our premiere episode, Daniel sits down with Actor, Writer, Singer, and Entrepreneur - Curt Mega! Curt Mega is an incredible hustler. He was a recurring guest star on the hit show Glee and has booked several guest-star spots on shows like Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Code Black & NCIS: Los Angeles. He also offers private coaching, performs in various theater shows and writes original works. Curt has also has launched his own podcast, Story Matters Podcast, a show that looks at the world through the lens of story.

Daniel and Curt discuss his path from Dallas, Texas to Los Angeles and the process it took to create a routine that benefited his hustle. Curt would browse for auditions when not working at a gym or coffee shop, but he would also watch the things that inspired him from the start, film, and TV. And by allowing himself to be inspired, he shares the incredible story of how he was cast as a Warbler for his four-season recurring role on the Fox smash hit comedy Glee and what it was like to work with Darren Criss and the rest of the principal cast.

But what happens after you've been on such a popular show, do the bookings keep rolling in? Alas, the hustle continues and as an artist, you push yourself to do more. Curt talks about saying, "YES" to a random opportunity from some college friends from Dallas to do an episode for a web series...and how it lead to Buffering The Series! We then break down his newest venture: Story Matters Podcast. Curt Mega shares what went into the creation of this latest project and what he hopes to accomplish with it.

Finally, Daniel and Curt have an inspiring conversation about what "success" in this industry looks and feels like, and in the end, it all comes down to your perspective in the present. "Finding what you love in the creative process and doing that every day." Watch out for the danger of hanging the desired outcome on a specific point in time or a specific project.

All that and a whole lot more is coming to you in our very first episode of the Hollywood Hustle Podcast!
