September 22 is Hobbit Day, the day that both Bilbo and Frodo were born according to The Lord of the Rings. It is celebrated by fans of the series by having banquets and parties in the fashion of the opening of the Fellowship of the Rings or some may just go barefoot in honor of Hobbits.
