"Islamo-gauchisme" Explained

Published: March 15, 2021, midnight

In this episode of Hidden Paris, Yasser Louati and I sit down to discuss the term "Islamo-gauchisme" (Islamo-leftism in English), a word that has been making headlines across France in recent weeks.

We discuss the history of France's relationship with its Muslim community, Laïcité, the events leading up to France introducing the Muslim veil ban, the recent debate between Marine Le Pen (the leader of France's far-right Front National party) & Gérald Darmanin (France's Minister of the Interior) and much more.

Yasser also hosts two podcasts, one in English called Le Breakdown and the other in French called Les Idées Libres.
