The star is radio comedian and Massachusetts native, Fred Allen(photo) who was extremely popular with his topically pointed radio program "The Fred Allen Show: (1932-49) and his long-running mock feud gag with his friend and fellow comedian, Jack Benny. He was considered one of the most forward-looking humorists in the Golden Age of Radio. Fred was known for raising a little hell with radio executives and sponsors... and that trait is characterized in this radio play.
