Bill Johnstone took over the role of Lamont Cranston from Orson Welles and began his five-season run as The Shadow (1939-43. Incidentally, Johnstone played other roles on the series when Orson Welles was The Shadow. This is the Christmas show from 1939 entitled "The Stockings Were Hung" This was the 179th episode of The Shadow. Margo (Miss Lane) and Lamont attempt to reunite a young brother and sister with their missing father. It is a loose reworking of DIckens's "A Christmas Carol" with the Shadow nicely worked into the plot as one of the ghosts of Christmas. It is a feel good story fitting for the spirit of the holiday... find in two playlists: "The Shadow" and "Christmas" playlists.
