Created by author Leslie Charteris, The Saint was a radio mystery adventure program that featured a character "Robin Hood" type who, in his attempt to help people, was able to remain one step ahead of the police and crooks, both whom he combatted. There were several versions of the programs on different networks with different actors taking on the role of Simon Templar (The Saint), but audiences and critics alike thought Vincent Price was by far the best of the group. The series began on Jan. 6, 1945 and ended on October 14, 1951. At different times it was on CBS, NBC, and the Mutual Radio Networks. There were also several films and television shows based on The Saint. There are more "Saint" episodes on the playlist here on Soundcloud.com entitled "Mystery-Detective-Crime".
