The Judy Canova Show is a favorite on Heirloom Radio... it was an old time comedy-variety program that was on the air from July 6, 1943 to June 27, 1944 on CBS and then moved to NBC from Jan. 13, 1945 to June 30, 1951 and returned from December 29, 1951 to May 28, 1953. Add it all up and it is about 10 years on the air... and if you listen to the show you will realize how truly talented this woman was... she was a classically trained vocalist who dressed up and acted like a real country Hayseed and the audiences loved her. With Ruth Perrott as Aunt Aggie, Ruby Dandridge as Geranium, Joseph Kearns as Benchley Botsford, Sharon Douglas as Brenda...Mel Blanc as Pedro... and more supporting actors including Gale Gordon, Sheldon Leonard, Gerald Mohr and Hans Conried... it was a powerful cast backing up a powerfully talented and patriotic woman...Judy Canova.
