The Cavalcade Of America - Edgar Allan Poe -Feb. 26, 1941 - Dramatization
Introductory Audio presents the background on the Cavalcade of America production... the 215th broadcast out of over 750 between 1935 and 1953 on CBS Radio. Karl Swenson stars as Edgar Allan Poe and Bill Johnstone stars as George Graham, a magazine publisher who hired Poe and made his magazine the most popular in the U.S.A. at the time. There was some dramatic license taken with this story that was written by Norman Rosten. For example, in the story Poe's young wife is called "Anna," but her real name was Virginia.
