Request Performance - Trip To The Moon - Variety-Comedy - Oct. 21, 1945
Track begins with background information on this unique series that ran from 1945-46 on CBS and was based on the WW II shows "Command Performance" and "Mail Call" - but rather than military personnel requesting their favorite stars, this show allowed anyone to write in and name the stars they would like to hear working together and even suggest the type of show or subject they would like to hear the performance include. This show stars Orson Welles and Eddie Bracken (See photos l to r) along with Johnny Mercer... and the featured skit is "Trip to the Moon" when Orson takes Eddie on a ride to the moon and a very different kind of adventure-comedy.
