One of the playlists on this podcast is entitled "History of Radio" ... prior to television and especially during the Great Depression through World War II, Americans received their immediate news via radio. Once television came to be generally distributed, that changed. But during the transition during the late 1950's to the mid-1960's, many historical events were simulcast on radio and TV. Given the events that are taking place all over the world at this time related to racism... I felt it was a good time to share some of the history connected with this topic that has taken place in the United States. On this track you will hear President Lyndon Johnson's speech on July 2, 1964 as he was about to sign the Civil RIghts Act of 1964.
