In 1950, Edward R. Murrow narrated a half-hour documentary called "The Case of the Flying Saucers." It attempted to offer a balanced look at unidentified flying objects, a subject of great interest at the time. In the piece Murrow interviewed both Kenneth Arnold (whose 1947 report initiated interest in UFO's) and astronomer Donald Menzel (who argued that UFO reports could be explained as people misidentifying common phenomena.
