The Edgar Bergen Charlie McCarthy Show went on the air on Dec 17, 1936 and had a 20 year run until 1956. The popularity of a show where no one could see the dummies nor the skills of the ventriloquist on radio, surprised and puzzled many critics then and now! The reality though, is that it was an incredibly successful show. On this track the guest star is WC Fields, who Charlie had a running feud with for years. Insulting one another...
