Oscar Wilde wrote the novella in 1891 from which this play is adapted... The audio introduction lays out the premise of the story and the willingness of Victorian character Dorian Gray to give his soul for allowing a portrait of him to age while he retains his youthfulness. But there is more to a person's life than looks... there is honor and morality... that is not visible and there is dishonor and immorality that is not visible ... but not so in the portrait... it changes as Dorian lives his life, and it is not a good "picture" when all is said and done!
