Hanley Stafford as "Lancelot Higgins" or "Daddy" to Baby Snooks played by the 49 yr old actress, Fanny Brice... former Vaudeville star who was so believable in her role of Baby Snooks that people who just heard her thought she was a 9 year old girl. Baby Snooks was heard as part of the Maxwell House Coffee Show hosted by Don Ameche in the early 1940's. She and Daddy did about a 10 min skit on each show. This skit is about "Christmas Skates" ... Snooks wants a pair for Christmas, but Daddy says , "No!" Let's listen and see who wins the argument. This file will be in the "Christmas" playlist. FYI: Snooks was so popular she got her own 30 min show on CBS radio starting September 17, 1944... The show was a blockbuster hit, but it all ended on May 29, 1951 when Fanny Bride died of a cerebral hemorrhage. She was only 59. The movie "Funny Girl" depicts her young life and her struggle for stardom in the Ziegfeld Follies.
