She was one of the most talented female performers on radio and a true example of the advantages of the use of sound because at the age of 50 in this 1941 skit from the Maxwell House Coffee Show, Fanny Brice made audiences believe she was a 10 year old little girl. Her father, played by Hanley Stafford, was the perfect straight man and foil for Snooks' consistent "Why?" question that she had for just about everything her father told her. In this roughly 9 minute skit, Snooks and Daddy (Lancelot Higgins was 'Daddy's name') are taking a trolley car to the shoe store to buy Snooks a new pair of shoes... but she wants roller skates and wonders why the "shoe tree" in the store doesn't have acorns?
