The Power Of Vulnerability - Lyn Smith & Ronnie Thomson

Published: Jan. 21, 2021, midnight

Lyn is joined by marriage and mind-set coach Ronnie Thomson, to discuss the unexpected and often overlooked power of vulnerability. Many see vulnerability as a weakness, but in actual fact it is one of our greatest strengths. In this week's conversation, Lyn and Ronnie talk about when it is safe to be vulnerable and how that can massively positively impact a loving relationship.  KEY TAKEAWAYS Unlocking the power of our vulnerability gives us an incredible sense of freedom, and with that comes an innate sense of trust. Allowing ourselves to be vulnerable within a healthy loving relationship is perhaps the greatest display of trust we can give. In this sense, vulnerability is a gift a couple can share and give each other. We take on beliefs from society, and grow up conforming to that societal ideal. It isn't until we sit and reflect internally that we come to realise that our own sets of beliefs are based on other peoples, and not our own. Never be afraid to take some time for yourself - take small steps towards caring for yourself. Caring for ourselves is not a sign of being selfish, but is in fact selfless. BEST MOMENTS 'I see people being vulnerable in a loving relationship, and they are rewarded with celebration' 'A couple is rewarded with deep intimacy by opening up to that new level of connection' 'Just take one small step' 'It sounds simple but it can be tricky to implement' VALUABLE RESOURCES Hearts Entwined Podcast Apple Podcasts (iTunes) Spotify Stitcher ABOUT THE GUEST Ronnie Thomson is a Marriage and Mind-Set Coach, she loves helping people reconnect on a deeper level through more effective communication, with themselves and their partner.
