The Queen of HEARTS, Lyn Smith, talks to Phoenix Singh PhD, a behavioural profiling expert, who talks to Lyn on the subject of human connection and the differences between men and women. KEY TAKEAWAYS Phoenix believes that we are in an exciting time when it comes to gender in that the roles of a partner in a relationship can be more easily and personally defined than in times before. But there is a small danger of the masculine qualities sometimes being seen as negative and things to be afraid of instead of respected and appreciated. The 'differences' between men and women are very unique and special & should be celebrated. There are undeniable biological 'differences' between genders and instead of trying to be the 'same', we should recognise that some elements of gender will always be 'different'. Phoenix’s approach to the subject of perceived negative, unhealthy, aggressive masculinity is not for men to self-feminise, but to be their healthy masculine - in an assertive polite way. As he puts it, make sure you leave every woman better than when you found her. There seems to be a preconception, especially amongst millennial's, that a relationship will somehow fix a part of your life that is in disrepair. Being single is almost seen as being an affliction. But a relationship is not a prerequisite in life, there are many joys to be found in being single.  Lyn and Phoenix, strongly believe that compartmentalising our identities can sometimes be a fruitless exercise. How do we define which element of ourselves is the most important to define? Is it our sexuality? Our religion? Our racial background? Our gender?  The rise of social media means that most people are not communicating effectively in terms of utilising the body’s built in sensors and receptors; namely those that deal with vocal and visual stimulus. As a result, these receptors are growing weaker, which leaves us in danger of being far less social in our real-life interactions. BEST MOMENTS ‘Effective human connection is being lost’ ‘I think that there’s a lot of cultural messaging these days’ ‘Equality for me means 'equal opportunities' not being the same as a man’ ‘A lot of people will adopt the same title but it will mean very different things’ ‘Everyone should have the freedom to put their skills on display’ ‘We can’t feel healthy love without feeling respect’ ‘We can’t have wisdom without experience’ ‘We are literally training our brains to be less effective at socialising’ ‘A lot of technology is like a sweetener; it looks like sugar and it tastes like sugar, but it ain’t sugar’   VALUABLE RESOURCES Hearts Entwined Podcast -Apple Podcasts (iTunes) -Spotify -Stitcher The Model Man   ABOUT THE GUEST Jay Phoenix Singh, PhD is the Chief Matchmaker and Attraction Acceleration Coach for The Model Man.
