Prash Chauhan, relationship expert and mentor joins Lyn this week to discuss his troubled background, and how he managed to raise himself up in order to feel worthy enough of love. Prash works with men on how to increase their self-confidence and become the best possible versions of themselves. This is an empowering conversation that will especially help anyone who's feeling as though love may have passed them by, with practical advice on how to go from 'Single to Taken'. KEY TAKEAWAYS Prash had developed severe trust issues on the back of a harsh upbringing that included abuse and bullying. But one day he asked himself, why did he deem himself not worthy of love. By working on himself and raising his self-esteem he began to realise that he was worthy of love, and has since been passionate about working with other men to increase their self-confidence. Your state of mind is a lens on how you view reality. It’s only by completely cleaning that lens and taking a fresh look that we begin to realise how fortunate and worthy we really are. If someone is struggling to even talk to potential partners, it’s usually because they are unhappy with themselves. By increasing your self-confidence, you’ll project an air of happiness, which will make others feel more comfortable because you'll be exuding a more positive attractive energy. Rejection is going to be part of the process. Remember that it’s how you choose to respond to any perceived rejection that counts. Practice having a relaxed attitude around it. Perhaps it wasn't meant to be? Maybe it was fortuitous? Maybe they wouldn't have been a great match for you and it's freed you up for the great love that’s just around the corner? Try not to focus on being outcome dependant whilst dating. Just enjoy the process. When you meet someone, try not to view the partner as a prize. Realise that you can’t possibly click with everyone. We are the sum of our experiences, and have developed our personal tastes and preferences throughout our lives. We can't be everyone’s cup of tea, so don’t feel bad if you aren’t. BEST MOMENTS ‘It’s taking the action and realising (regardless of the outcome) that things aren’t that bad’ ‘If you’re coming from a place of lack or scarcity, then you’ll come across as needy’ ‘It’s about re-framing things’ ‘People get hung up on what they don’t have, rather than what they do have’ ‘Rejection doesn’t mean no forever’ ’Some Will. Some Won’t. So What'   VALUABLE RESOURCES Hearts Entwined Podcast -Apple Podcasts (iTunes) -Spotify -Stitcher   ABOUT THE GUEST Prash Chauhan was born and brought up in London. As a child and in his teens he didn’t fit in and went through a lot of hardship and abuse. As a result of this occurring on a long term basis, he always labelled himself as a victim and was always thinking to himself thoughts like, “Hello, World, what are you going to throw at me today?” and “Why does this always happen to me?” He also developed low self-esteem and was very shy and uncomfortable with himself and around people. Additionally, he had no social skills, was always the one sitting on the fence, was ostracised and never part of “the crew,” and was terrified about speaking to and approaching women. When he saw a woman he liked, he had no idea what to do and his mind would freeze. He made the decision to get this area of his life fixed and took drastic action by facing his fear of approaching women regardless of what happened, and he came to realise that growth only happens when one faces their deepest fears, steps out of their comfort zone despite failing, and never gives up.
