Dr Bill Chameides is Dean and Nicholas Professor of the Environment at Duke University, with more than 30 years in academia as a professor, researcher, teacher and mentor. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, a fellow of the American Geophysical Union, and a recipient of the American Geophysical Union\\xeds MacElwane Award. He has served on numerous national and international committees and task forces, including three years as chief scientist of the Environmental Defense Fund, and in recognition was named a National Associate of the National Academies for "extraordinary service."
