Welcome to Season 8, Episode 20 of Healing Ties 2.0, 30 podcasts in 30 days celebrating National Family Caregivers month featured on the Whole Care Network.

In this episode it is a pleasure to welcome a good friend of mine Rich Scharf. Rich is a native West Virginian living in St. Louis Mo, and is the only child raised by a single mother, Carolyn, who resides in a Memory Care facility with mid-to-late stage dementia. Rich practices dentistry at a federally qualified health center (FQHC), providing services for those who normally wouldn\\u2019t be able to afford them.
Rich started to see a change in his Mom's cognitive abilities a number of years ago and thought he might have to return to West Virginia to care for her (which is was more than willing to do). Now a long-distance caregiver, Rich and his mom are enriched by the care and concern of his Mom\\u2019s church which has made long-distance caregiving just a tad bit easier.
Listen in and learn how Rich Scharf if creating Healing Ties all around us!
