She is the author of several collections of her own writings, including A Xicana Codex of Changing Consciousness, Native Country of the Heart, Waiting in the Wings: Portrait of a Queer Motherhood, and also forthcoming from Haymarket in 2023, Loving in the War Years and Other Writings 1978-1998.\\n\\nMartha Gonzalez is a Chicana artivista (artist/activist) musician, feminist music theorist and Associate Professor in the Intercollegiate Department of Chicana/o Latina/o Studies at Scripps/Claremont College.
