Podcast 164 Paul Byrne This week we continue with our Ex-Player series when we catch up with Paul Byrne who played for Celtic from 1993 to 1995. We talk about the atmosphere among the players during this most turbulent time for the Club and we discuss Paul’s experiences playing under Brady, Connor, Macari and Tommy Burns. Be warned, we also look back to the darkest of days and the Coca-Cola Cup final defeat but we soon lift the gloom by reminiscing about scoring screamers against Oldco. Paul chats about what “might have been” had things been a little bit different in his career and he speaks frankly about missing out on the World Cup of 1994 and his disappointments at leaving Celtic without a winners medal in his hip pocket. Remember we are collecting audio clips from supporters for our forthcoming summer project charting the history of Celtic from a fans perspective. You can email your clips to lostbhoys@gmail.com to be included in the series of 10 shows coming soon. Listen to the end of this week’s podcast for all the details.
