The History Bhoys Abroad are extremely proud to present a Lisbon Lion Special featuring an interview with John Clark and a documentation of the unveiling the commemorative plaque in Lisbon. One of the History Bhoys, Fred, was one of the main men behind the inception, production and subsequent unveiling of the plaque to commemorate that magical day on the 25th May 1967. From a throwaway conversation months ago between two pals about how there was nothing at the stadium signifying our day to it being a tangible piece of work to coincide with the 50th anniversary year of Celtic's most famous triumph. We spoke with Vitor Pataco: Portuguese Vice President of the Institute of Sport & Youth, and we spoke to Paulo Pires: the director of the Estádio Nacional about the impact it had and continues to have on their capital. Fred also spoke with David, one of the two men behind the plaque, about the process of the event and what sparked their desire to make something happen. But our proudest moment yet as a podcast is when John Clark, Lisbon Lion, Celtic legend, gave us some of his time in the dressing room of the Estádio Nacional to talk about his memories, the best he ever played against, thoughts on the current Celtic squad and more.
