A couple of weeks ago, Ben Shapiro posted his daily upload to YouTube in which he claims that empathy has no place in government. I like many others found this statement to be outlandish and so I took off to record my response to his statement. Luckily, I did not post my original audio. Instead, I took some time to actually think about his statement. Upon some reflection, I somewhat see his point. We do need intelligence running our country, but at the same time, we need to understand the plights of our fellow man. Therefore, I've come to my own conclusion that we need to be cautious about how we dole out empathy. We can lead with empathy, but use intelligence and wisdom to guide it. Blindly helping others without knowing their situation may lead us to supporting some bad habits of that individual. Enjoy.
