VLOG #2: My thoughts on Politics in 2020: Stop demonizing the other side and instead have more conversations

In my content, I probably will not be talking about politics too much given its divisive nature, and the fact that I want to spread more positivity and show us we have more in common than not, but given the context of the election results coming out today, I decided to speak on my thoughts about politics.

In summary:

1. Be grateful to live in a democratic republic. That our ability as citizens to collectively be heard and to be able to vote officials in and out is awesome. Over 50+ countries in the world have some form of dictatorship where citizens don’t have the rights that we do.

2. It’s great to be passionate about politics. Laws matter. Laws have an effect on citizens and our community.

3. We need to be careful about characterizing whole populations of voters on the other side as “idiots”.

4. In conjunction with the #3, I think it’s important for us to have conversations with each other, especially with people of the other side to truly understand each other better and try to help create more empathy between the two sides.
