b'This week\\u2019s guest is Christian Lomsdalen. Christian is the current president of the Norwegian Humanist Association and a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Bergen studying the didactics (science) of religion.

Christian grew up in an ordinary Christian Norwegian family as \\u201cChristmas Christians\\u201d. He went to church for Christmas and other holidays, and that was about it.

\\u201cI identified as a Christian\\u2026a quiet liberal Christian, probably. I guess a lot of the evangelicals in the United States probably wouldn\\u2019t have recognized me as a Christian.\\u201d

Around eighteen, Christian realized he didn\\u2019t believe in God, though he read the Bible and liked the stories. Since then, however, he has lived a humanist life.

Christian shares many of the differences between Norway and the US, tackling religion and politics. The Norwegian Humanist Association is doing great work, and it\\u2019s a good model for other countries moving forward.
