Dirty To Destiny: Samson The Player

b'Strong. Handsome. Smart. Samson was an impressive guy. He was born through a miraculous birth. His parents were instructed by God to raise him as one who was set aside for a special purpose, a purpose of blessing his people. We see in scripture many stories of Samson accomplishing incredible feats, but we also see a rebellious nature in Samson that fostered a spiraling pattern of willful disobedience toward God. Captured, imprisoned, and mocked Samson shows a final act of submission to God by sacrificing himself to accomplish God's will. That final act accomplished more than all of Samson's wonderful acts combined. It's results lasted far beyond the moment. It left a legacy we see in Hebrews 11 that records Samson in the Hall of Fame of Faith. Pastor Doug instructs us that a life of disobedience will rob God, others, and yourself of the blessing God wishes to shower on us, but it is never too late to start a new life of obedience. We know from Samson's story, that God can accomplish more through one act of obedience than a lifetime of impressive feats.'
