Christian author C.S. Lewis once said, "If false, Christianity is of no importance. If true, it is of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important." When it comes to our faith, casual is the enemy of crucial. Thankfully, Christ pleads with us in his word to treat our faith as the crucial thing that it is. This week God warns us about the dangers of loving money and possessions. Just as God can and does use money for so much good, the devil can and does use money for so much evil. It is probably the thing with which he most tries to steal our hearts away from God. Thankfully God reminds us: full pockets do not mean full lives.
