Any event of significant seismic magnitude sends waves of energy that can be felt hundreds of miles from the epicenter. The resurrection of Jesus is an event of such cosmic magnitude that its effects are felt in every corner of life. This week we see that Easter establishes the central might for our mission. Forty days after Jesus rose, he removed his visible presence from among us. Far from this being a sad event or hindering his work on earth, this event triggered the final age of our earth’s history, the one in which Christ would rule from the throne of heaven and the Holy Spirit would be poured out abundantly for the growth of Christ’s Church on earth. Easter makes the Christ’s ascension the central might for our mission!
