School is still in session.
The teachings of the Christian faith come "from the top down." But not because they are oppressively imposed on us. Rather, they tell us things about God that are too good to be made up, things that we would never believe unless God himself revealed them to us by his Spirit. This week we celebrate the Festival of Pentecost by focusing on the work of the Holy Spirit. After his resurrection, Jesus ascended on high to be the world’s advocate before God. As a result, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to be God’s advocate before the world. During these last days he is by our side in God’s Word to teach us the truth about God.
