Chef, author, Northern Michigan enthusiast Mario Batali (ABC's "The Chew") was on WKLT's "Omelette and Friends" radio show on July 7, 2015, in Traverse City.

He talked about why he loves for all of Northern Michigan. "Michigan is a completely cool place," he said on the show.

Mario was recently at the National Cherry Festival for the "Weird Al" Yankovic concert, which he said was an "extremely groovy show."

He also talks about hanging with The Edge of U2, who recently visited the area. What did he think about Northern Michigan?

"We have won a longtime fan. He loved the place. He loved the food; he loved everything about it. He loved the lake. He loved listening to you guys on the radio in the morning when we went to play golf."
