b'On November 15th, 1971, best friends Debbie Ackerman and Maria Johnson went missing after reportedly hitchhiking to Houston. Two days later, their bodies were found in Turner\\u2019s Bayou outside of Texas City. Their murders were two of the many confessed to by convicted murderer Edward Harold Bell, the murders he referred to as \\u201cThe Eleven Who Went to Heaven.\\u201d Although countless articles and a television docuseries go out of their way to make a case for Bell\\u2019s guilt, there are reasons to doubt the confessions he\\u2019d later recant. Either way, the slayings of Maria Johnson and Debbie Ackerman remain unsolved to this day.
