Kingdom for All (Meyer)
Jesus had promised His disciples that He would send them another Helper in the Holy Spirit who would comfort, counsel, guide and advocate for them in fulfilling the Great Commission that He had given to them. At Pentecost Jesus fulfills His promise when the disciples receive the power of the Holy Spirit and immediately take to the streets to spread the news about Jesus. We are reminded this week that Jesus has made His Kingdom accessible to all people. Peter says that any who are far off are welcome to come, repent of their sins and receive the free gift of the forgiveness of Jesus and the gift of His Holy Spirit. The Kingdom of Jesus is truly a Kingdom for all people.
