Hope for Healing (Johnson)
We begin our Advent journey looking at our Hope for Healing. So many people are waiting, have been waiting, or are just starting their journeys with hoping that they might find healing for their illness or the illness of a loved one. In our Gospel reading we meet two people who are looking for Jesus to bring healing to their lives. Jairus needs Jesus to heal his daughter and the woman needs Jesus to heal her bleeding ailment. In these stories we see Jesus perform miracles and heal them both, but we also remember this week that we have all been promised healing. The greatest healing came when Jesus forgave our sins and promised us that no matter what we face in this life we have a certain Hope for Healing in Him.
