Gracious, Merciful, Patient, Loving (Johnson)

We conclude our “Sitting with the Psalms” sermon series with a Psalm that is not as well known as many of the Psalms we’ve studied...and yet...one that has a profound and amazing reminder of who God is for us! In the first seven verses, the Psalmist talks about extolling, praising and glorifying God, but He does so for a reason that is revealed in verse eight, namely, “The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.” What is it that drives our praise? He is gracious and merciful and slow to anger because He abounds in steadfast love! We’ll end this series, remembering the Lord’s amazing grace...remembering that He is “Gracious, Merciful, Patient and Loving!”
