One of the most profound, amazing and wonderful truths found in the Apostle’s Creed comes from what is the shortest of the three Articles. The First Article simply reads “I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.” Short. Sweet. To the point. But to the point of what? Well...that God is our Father and Maker and Creator. We are indeed “fearfully and wonderfully made” by Him. We are not a product of chance or happenstance. We are not a link in a evolutionary chain that simply happened to come about “if given enough time” as it’s said. We are a purposeful creation of the purposeful God. What implications in our world today does that truth bring for us and for those outside the Church? Today, we’ll get at that as we remember that we are “Created by the Father!”
