Ethernet Networks with Mitch Simcoe (Ciena)

Published: Dec. 10, 2015, 1 p.m.

Gain Your Edge is a twice-monthly podcast on all things IT. This week’s podcast focuses on Ethernet Networks. We’ll explore the differences between consumer-grade, “best effort” communications, provided by many cable TV and phone companies, and commercial-grade, deterministic, engineered solutions such as an Ethernet network. Additionally, we will explore the fundamental questions: is an Ethernet network right for my business? And can I afford an Ethernet network?

Our guest is Mitch Simcoe, Ethernet Specialist with Ciena. Mitch has over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, including Bell Canada, Nortel and GENBAND. At Ciena, he is responsible for supporting network service providers. He received a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) and a MBA (Marketing) from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Mitch mentioned the following resources during our podcast, and they are presented below for your reference.
