Recently we have experienced some of the warmest years on record.\\xa0Storms have become more frequent and intense, we are seeing harsher droughts, the ocean temperatures are rising, and polar ice is melting.\\xa0As these trends inevitably continue to get worse, we will lose most of our north polar ice, we will see food production around the world impaired by drought, and rising sea levels will destroy coastal cities.\\xa0

John Harte, Ph.D., studies the effects of human activity on biodiversity, ecosystems, and climate and states that global warming is leading to an earth that will be uninhabitable for humans and other living creatures.\\xa0He joins us today to discuss what the science is saying about climate change, how feedback from the ecosystem might exacerbate the situation, and what we as humans need to do to save us from ourselves.
