Speaker: Jeff Jarvis It's estimated that around 3500 years ago, the 7th Commandment - Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery - was established in ancient Israel. It was in a time when marriages were arranged, polygamy was an acceptable option, and the threat of adultery was more economic than anything. Since then, massive changes have occurred in matrimonial and romantic relationships. What hasn't changed is the occurrence of infidelity and the feelings of betrayal it causes. Only now it seems much more complicated and convoluted. What exactly counts as infidelity? Is it just sexual, or can you betray someone emotionally? Probably the more important question is why? Why would we risk losing so much or hurting someone we love so deeply? What is it that we’re hoping to find? Join us Sunday and explore what the 7th commandment could mean to you today.
