Episode 20 ~ Theatrical frequency threat, the Kays, Krista acoustic, Vinyl with Iv

It's a mixed bag this week as we mash up interviews about the mobile threat to theatrical frequencies with multiple emerging musicians (live and pre-produced for a bit of variety). -The CRTC has aligned itself with cell phone juggernauts in the sense the telecommunications regulator is squeezing out the much smaller but no less culturally relevant theatre performers. Listen to an interview with one of the affected parties and find out why it matters. -We'll hear about plans for beach cleanup thanks to the Surfrider Foundation (https://www.facebook.com/surfriderpacificrim). -Check out my interview with Noelle Beaulieu from the Kays (@meetthekays), a Courtenay, B.C. band with a knack for a unique brand of indie rock — or as they call it: "Funky Psychedelic Groove." We'll have a first play of one of their tracks I'm not allowed to tell you the meaning of (and I doubt you'll be able to figure out for yourself - ha!) -Plus music from Calyx and TeeBee @calyxteebee, AC/DC, @disparition, José González @josegonzalez and K-OS @kosofficial -We’ll have an acoustic rendition of an ocean-focused trip-hop classic by Morcheeba (@morcheeba) from local singer-songwriter Krista Martens. -Then we've got a "Vinyl with Iv" set featuring actual vinyl records. Expect tracks from Run DMC, @sublime, J.J. Cale and Jimi Hendricks @jimhendricks
