Title of my message today is: What’s First?

(Psalm 39:4-5) (NLT) “LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered, and that my life is fleeing away. My life is no longer than the width of my hand. An entire lifetime is just a moment to you; human existence is but a breath.”

(James 4:13-14) “Now listen, you who say, ʻToday or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.ʼ Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.”

(Proverbs 4:23) (GNT) “Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts.”

(Psalm 90:12) “Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

(Job 28:23-26) (NLT) “God alone understands the way to wisdom; he knows where it can be found, for he looks throughout the whole earth and sees everything under the heavens. He decided how hard the winds should blow and how much rain should fall. He made the laws for the rain and laid out a path for the lightning.”

(Job 28:27-28) (NLT) “Then he saw wisdom and evaluated it. He set it in place and examined it thoroughly. And this is what he says to all humanity: ‘The fear of the Lord is true wisdom; to forsake evil is real understanding.’”
