Ephesians 1:1-23 (NIV)

Paul, an apostle\xa0of Christ Jesus by the will of God, to God\u2019s holy people\xa0in Ephesus, the faithful\xa0in Christ Jesus grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,\xa0who has blessed us in the heavenly realms\xa0with every spiritual blessing in Christ.\xa0 For he chose us\xa0in him before the creation of the world\xa0to be holy and blameless\xa0in his sight. In love\xa0he predestined\xa0us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure\xa0and will\u2014\xa0to the praise of his glorious grace,\xa0which he has freely given us in the One he loves.\xa0 \xa0In him we have redemption\xa0through his blood,\xa0the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches\xa0of God\u2019s grace\xa0that he lavished on us. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined\xa0according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose\xa0of his will,\xa0in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.\xa0 And you also were included in Christ\xa0when you heard the message of truth,\xa0the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal,\xa0the promised Holy Spirit,\xa0who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance\xa0until the redemption\xa0of those who are God\u2019s possession\u2014to the praise of his glory.

For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus\xa0and your love for all God\u2019s people,\xa0I have not stopped giving thanks for you,\xa0remembering you in my prayers.\xa0I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father,\xa0may give you the Spirit of wisdom\xa0and revelation, so that you may know him better.\xa0I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened\xa0in order that you may know the hope to which he has called\xa0you, the riches\xa0of his glorious inheritance\xa0in his holy people,\xa0and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power\xa0is the same as the mighty strength\xa0he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead\xa0and seated him at his right hand\xa0in the heavenly realms,\xa0far above all rule and authority, power and dominion,\xa0and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.\xa0And God placed all things under his feet\xa0and appointed him to be head\xa0over everything for the church,\xa0which is his body,\xa0the fullness of him\xa0who fills everything in every way.
