Part 29.1 : Memories [Part 1]

Published: June 19, 2019, 4:13 p.m.

Shane and Gemma sit down with Ellen Lacter, Ph.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist to discuss extreme abuse and how it can impact victim survivors and their memories. Joining us on this multiple part episode discussion is Jean Wehner, also known as Jane Doe during the mid-90s lawsuit.

**TRIGGER WARNING** Jean is aware that the topic we are about to discuss is difficult to hear, so she warns that the conversation you are about to listen to is painfully raw and can’t help but be upsetting, especially if you are a survivor. However, it is necessary to talk about such things in order for us to separate victim from abuser, so we can see how systematically premeditated Maskell and other perpetrators are in their efforts to make their victims believe they are solely responsible for what happened to them. Knowing how triggering it is for her to just talk about what the abusers made her do, feel & think she recommends that survivors have their therapists or close supporters listen to this 3 part interview before or with them. As always don’t feel you need to listen!

Join Gemma Hoskins and Shane Waters as they continue the conversation that Netflix's Docu-Series "The Keepers" shared with the world in 2017. Although Gemma and many people you hear from were featured in the Docu-Series; This production is not affiliated with Netflix.
