Film Fallout Podcast #55 - Beauty and The Devil's Candy

Published: March 22, 2017, 3:32 p.m.

Welcome to a much-talked about movie that Christopher Cross and Dylan Schwan finally get to review: The Devil's Candy. After years of Chris hyping it up, it finally has been released and we take our time going through Sean Byrne's follow-up to The Loved Ones. How does it compare to his previous film, both in quality and tonally? Why do we feel bad for Pruitt Taylor Vince? Will there ever be another horror movie that handles metal with this much class? This and so much more await you in the podcast below. But wait, there's more! Nobody remakes like Gaston! Which is why Chris saw Beauty & The Beast to see how the live action adaptation of the Disney classic holds up. He also saw The Chamber, the directorial debut of Ben Parker which takes place entirely in a small submarine. Meanwhile, Dylan saw the sequel to the surprise hit, Goon, entitled Goon: Last of the Enforcers - which happens to be Jay Baruchel's directorial debut, too. There's also a bunch of news to discuss, as well as the blu-ray releases of the week. It's a lot of garbage, but our pick of the week is the Criterion release of Multiple Maniacs from John Waters. Next week, we'll be back with a review of Chips because there are too many movies we really don't want to see and somehow we're totally okay with Chips. Film Fallout is a weekly podcast about film and television. Every week, Christopher Cross and Dylan Schwan discuss news happening in the industry, blu-ray releases coming out this week, what they’ve been watching, and then a review of one movie. You can listen to it on SoundCloud, iTunes, or on BagoGames. Also follow us on Instagram for some behind-the-scenes magic. We are both on Twitter, if you’d like to follow us there. Chris is @HammerkopCross, Dylan is @DreaminDylanS, and you can follow the podcast @Filmfalloutcast. And finally, there is a Facebook page for the podcast if you’d like to ‘like’ us on that.
