Film Fallout Podcast #135 - Suspiria: The Other Side of the Remake

Published: Nov. 7, 2018, 12:45 a.m.

Christopher Cross and Dylan Schwan are here to inform you on one of the most interesting remakes made this century with Luca Guadagnino's Suspiria. They make sure to compare and contrast with Dario Argento's 1977 original film just in case anyone needed to hear that. They go into the multiple changes and additional plotlines in the new film as well as how (un)necessary some of them ended up being. Dylan and Chris took the time to see The Other Side of the Wind, the final film from Orson Welles released by Netflix. They go into the background troubles of the film as well as the legitimacy of labelling it an Orson Welles film when he wasn't around to finish it. Dylan watched the companion documentary, They'll Love Me When I'm Dead, directed by Morgan Neville, to confirm all the theories he had about the film as he watched it. Next week, Chris and Dylan witness the new Bad Robot film, Overlord. As the first R-rated release by the production company, will it give them another attempt at making a good movie? Should they keep handing multi million dollar films to untested directors? Find out next week. You can find Film Fallout every week on iTunes, Soundcloud, Facebook, and Instagram, as well as anything else that pulls an RSS Feed.
